Message From Our Founder

 
I created BMM because men need their own spaces. Men need spaces where they can be free from media stereotypes. We need spaces where we can be our authentic selves without being judged. When men are together, there can be healing. We can reclaim parts of ourselves that have been repressed. We can redefine ourselves and support one another by embracing who we are. Showing sadness about the latest killing of a black person is rarely invited; When we express sadness, our voices will be heard rather than being ignored. These spaces are not acting of oppression, but rather responses to it. Being together can offer closure for bringing our fullness into integrated spaces where it will inevitably be challenged. We have been separated for 400 years & kept from one another with years of oppression and segregation carried in our DNA. For so long we have been unable to occupy & secure our own safe space. We need time to determine how to reconcile that debt, to determine our path moving forward. It works without a deadline. We hope to bring more support through these spaces & hear how more men will be heard and how we can holistically provide resources to help heal one another.

We are a family-oriented independent membership agency dedicated to the enhancement of economic opportunities for men in the tri-state area. We provide a platform to exchange ideas, learn, and network with others from various backgrounds while expanding their personal & professional network. In our safe space, we will transform generations by offering wealth-building workshops to promote personal empowerment and economic self-sufficiency. We focus our efforts on five initiatives; Business Start-Up & Expansion, Job placement, Real Estate, Mental Health Counseling, & Financial Literacy.
